Hintertux Glacier Hike – A unique nature experience in Tyrol

To ensure that the Hintertux Glacier Hike is an unforgettable experience for all participants, experienced mountain guides take care of your safety. They know the glacier like the back of their hand and are happy to answer all your questions about the ancient ice rock with expertise and local knowledge. This way, you will see beautiful ice colors along the walkways. And you will also learn fascinating facts about the formation of the Hintertux Glacier. 

Whoever does not return inspired from this high mountain world has no heart. The glittering ice, the brightly shining blue glacier crevasses, the babbling streams, and last but not least the panoramic views of the surrounding 3,000-meter peaks will leave a lasting impression on you. 

From July to September, you have the opportunity to take part in the guided glacier hike in Hintertux. The one-hour hike always starts on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 11:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. from the Tuxer Fernerhaus. Both experienced outdoor fans as well as beginner hikers and families are warmly welcome. A good surefootedness is required. Please be sure to wear good mountain boots and don’t forget sunglasses, jacket, cap, and sunscreen.

The glacier hike with a mountain guide usually takes place between July and September. The current prices are available at our hotel reception. Especially during the high season, we recommend booking your glacier hike well in advance.
